Adobe Digital Editions installation instructions

It is easy to install the Adobe Digital Editions e-book reader and also it comes free of cost. Read the following instructions to know how to install the Adobe Digital Editions application. These instructions are valid for all versions of the Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. The application is installed individually for each user.

1. When you go to the Adobe Digital Editions download page, you will see a button marked "Install". It will be displayed,at the bottom left corner. You need to install Flash Player, in case this button is not visible. Click the "Install" button.

2. Click "Install" once more to confirm that you want to install Adobe Digital Editions

3. To start the installation of Adobe Digital Editions, Click on "Yes". Downloading the installation package to your computer may take some time.

4. The installer application will launch, once the installation files have been downloaded. To install these files on your computer, you will have to click "I Agree".

5. The Adobe Digital Editions will launch and display a settings dialogue, once the files are installed. To configure Adobe Digital Editions click "Continue".

6. You will be asked whether you would like to activate your Adobe Digital Editions with your Adobe ID.
In case you already have an Adobe ID, enter your ID and password and click "Authorize Computer".
And "get an Adobe ID online" if you want to create an Adobe ID. For information, you can see what is available under Activation.
"Don't Authorize Computer" in case you do not want to use an Adobe ID.
Finally, click "Activate".

A warning message will be displayed when you select "Don't Authorize". You can move on by clicking "Continue".

7. The application is ready to be used, once all the steps have been going through. Click "Finished" to start using Adobe Digital Editions.

8. The Adobe Digital Editions will launch the Library view as the installation is now complete. You are now ready to loan e-books!

Activation

The user is allowed to access the e-book on several devices by using the Adobe ID when downloading and activating e-books. And it's only possible to read the book on one device, without an Adobe ID. The following instructions will let you know how to register an Adobe ID. This registration is free of charge.

1. By clicking the "get an Adobe ID online" link in the installation program you will be taken to Adobe's registration page. Click "Create an Adobe Account".

2. You can enter your information into the form available; and the fields marked with a star are compulsory to fill.

3. Enter your information and then click "Continue. A message will be displayed stating that the registration was successful, if your entered information is valid.

4. Click "Authorize" after you enter your Adobe ID and password in Adobe Digital Editions. If you install Digital Editions in another device and enter the same Adobe ID, All subsequently downloaded e-books will be authorized with your Adobe ID and you can then copy your books to this other device.
